As Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Global Medical Educational Training, Inc. (GMET), James M. Vines Jr. plays a key leadership role in the company’s global impact. With a legacy of over 30 years, GMET has provided cutting-edge emergency medical education and training both across the United States and internationally. James leads the financial and logistical operations of GMET, ensuring the seamless delivery of programs in diverse locations including the Caribbean, West Africa, and the U.S.

His leadership helps sustain GMET’s mission of equipping first responders, healthcare professionals, and institutions with life-saving training and resources. From coordinating training initiatives to overseeing business operations, James contributes to the organization’s continued growth, quality assurance, and operational excellence.

Professional Background in Security Leadership

James currently serves as the Security Director for Washington Square, a prestigious Lerner Corporation property located in Washington, DC. Since joining the company in November 2022, he has provided strategic oversight for Washington Square and other high-profile properties in the area.

He also serves on the board at Legacy Ventures USA. A nonprofit organization committed to building a stronger, more united future for communities in need.

Previously, James was the Director of Safety & Security at the Adventist World Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he served from 2008 to 2018. He led a staff of 34 Special Police and Security Officers, overseeing daily operations and long-term safety protocols.

Education & Early Career

James earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeastern University, laying the foundation for his work in both business operations and security management.

Before entering the safety and emergency services sector, he spent 12 years in the banking industry, serving in various roles at major financial institutions throughout the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region.
